Linda Soulé, began the study of dance at an early age with Irene Jones in Huntsville, Alabama. At age 10 she started studying with Loyd Tygett at Community Ballet School and became a member of the Huntsville Civic Ballet Company at age 12. She has danced 20 years with the Company. During this period she has danced lead roles in "Wing Shadow", "Fun With Foster", "Masquerade", "Chimarosiana", "Pas Quatre", danced the roles of Snow Queen, Red Rose, Dewdrop Fairy and Sugar Plum Fairy in "The Nutcracker", grands cygnes and Swan Queen Pas de Deux from "Swan Lake", Giselle Variation from Act 1 of "Giselle", "Don Quixote" variation, Effie in "La Sylphide" plus numerous brief variations and solos in original choreography for the Company.
As a member of the Huntsville Civic Ballet Company, Linda has appeared in six Education Television ballet programs, danced in four Fantasy Playhouse Children's Theatre plays, was pictured in Dancemagazine, in Dance World and on the cover of Huntsville's 1972 telephone directory. She received best teenage actress awards for portraying Keren in "The Red Shoes" and Beauty in Beauty and The Beast" presented by Fantasy Playhouse.
Linda was offered full summer scholarships two years to The American Ballet Theatre School by Leon Danielian, director of the school. She received an eight week summer scholarship from Robert Joffrey to his school, The American Ballet Center, where she studied with Meredith Baylis, Richard Gibson and Ann Parson. Other outstanding teachers she has studied with are David Howard, Christine Hennessy, Nansi Clement, Robert Barnett, John Gregory and Barbara Vernon. Linda received two summer workshop scholarships and a full tuition scholarship to Birmingham Southern College. There she studied with Alfonso Figueroa, Mira Popovic, Mimi Ransley, Kathryn Townsend and guest teachers Royes Fernandez, Richar Holden, Maria de Baroncelli and Bella Malinka. She was chosen by Mr. Holden to be soloist in his summer production of "La Bayadere".
Linda has over 30 years teaching experience. She has taught for Community Ballet,
Bobbie Hall, Dance Elite, Valley Fellowship's Christian Academy, Covenant of Peace
Church, Covenant Christian Academy, and special off ice classes at the Ben Wilcoxon
Ice Plex. All of these in Huntsville, AL. She also taught at Tracie's School of Dance
in Bradenton, Florida. She taught ballet for the 1992-
Linda has done choreography for the local dance schools she has taught for and has done many liturgical dance pieces for the churches she has worked with. She entered the 1992 Panoply of The Arts Choreography Competition for the first time and was chosen to perform her piece in the finals of the modern Category. She has choreographed and preformed liturgical dance at the annual Christ Our Passover Celebration since 1993.
